SDC137: Textured Backgrounds

Kay Wallace is our hostess this week:

I am thrilled to be posting the challenge today!  That said, it is going to be a challenge with a bit of a twist.  This challenge is all about using texture in the background of your artful projects.  But, here’s the twist:  I am not challenging you to create a texture like mine, but challenging you to share with the rest of us through your art your “signature” or “go to” techniques for creating that texture in your backgrounds.  For example, Design Team member Coby vanWilligenburg has the ability to create amazing texture in a background by using Yupo (synthetic) paper and alcohol inks, yet her background remains as flat as a pancake!!  On the other hand, Design Team member Magda Polakow will create a textured background by building up many layers, yet it remains in the background and never overpowers her focal images.  So, share with us what YOU do to create that physical texture or just the appearance of it!  Above all, have fun!

**Please read new rule instituted with this challenge-we will no longer be accepting digi stamp creations as part of our challenges.  Stampotique is a red rubber stamp company and we prefer to see creations with stamps versus those with digital creations.  These entries will be deleted and will not be eligible for the prize.  Thank you for understanding.**

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Please read ALL RULES on the linkz page before linking your creation.
If you didn't follow the rules posted, you may have been deleted.
Feel free to relink your creation with the correct information for a chance to win.

*No digi stamp creations please*

  4. Hi, don't want to be sour grapes but I thought there was a one link per person per week limit? I know you are very good at weeding out people who don't obey the rules but the new links is probably making this a bit more difficult because it automatically fills in the blog heading as the caption under the thumbnail. Entries 67,68,69 and 78 were all entered by the same blog for SDC133 and then 76,77 and 80 by the same author for SDC 136. You drew #80 as the winner.

Fantastic entries last month and a great challenge to kick off March Kay. Love all the DT samples. Thanks for such inspirational blogs

  8. Congrats to all, although ionabunny is probably right about the rules, should be the same for all and applied?... Well, as far I am concerned it's not a problem, since it has become very difficult for me to enter just one time! However your challenge is so fab Kay, love texture so much.. how could I resist haha? Thank you for the inspiration ladies, great samples by everybody!! Coco x
